Our first major assignment in digital rendering was to design a mall kiosk. We were asked to choose a product to sell and create a model of the kiosk using 3ds max software. After dealing with a creative block and being unable to decide on a product, I finally decided to sell ski and snowboard supplies. The concept for the kiosk was "northern exposure," it was derived from the powerful elements that skiiers and snowboarders are exposed to during the winter season. The kiosk is designed to look like a combination of a gondola ski life and ski and snowboard rack. I wanted to combine the elements of space, color, and form to emphasize the principals of unity, balance, rhythm, and variety. After many long hours of frustrations and stress, here are a few examples of my final product: Fresh Powder Kiosk!
