Update on Casta *NEW RETAIL SECTION
I decided to work in sketch up on this project rather than 3DSmax, just so I can test our different programs and see where I might be stronger.
I need to adjust the material application on the floor but I need to ask my teacher how to make that look more realisitc...as I said...I haven't really worked with it before.
As of right now, I like it.
It's obviously still far from finished, but here's where I'm at!
let me know what you think!

Godiva....FINISHED
After a very long three weeks, the Godiva Boutique competition has come to a finish, however I feel very little relief consider I now have to catch up on all the work I slacked off on because of my dedication to this project. Although it's not perfect, I'm happy with how it turned out.
It was an interesting weekend knowing most people were headed out to parties and such Friday night, Saturday night, and all day Sunday while some of my fellow students and I slaved away in our computer labs attempting to finish these products. I wanted so badly all weekend to be anywhere but that room, yet I'm honestly happy I stayed. My project is ten times better than it had been for my midterm critique, and we did make the days fun by watching Halloween movie after Halloween movie together on the over head projector. Now even though it's officially out of my hands, the work is far from over.
I hope you enjoy, feel free to email me with comments.
HAPPY NOVEMBER! :]

Casta Tea House Update
On the other end of my midterm projects, is the Chinese Tea House. We just had a class critique and handed in progress boards. As soon as I can get those back I will post them up here as well...but for now here are some of the perspective drawings that can convey the space a lot better.
There are some changes that are going to be made but, it's an update on my progress non the less.
Enjoy!

Godiva Store Update
After a grooling critique with Seungwoo, I ended up having to change my entire floor plan. Well, I didn't "have to" exactly, it was more my own accord. Seugwoo, my teacher, came to give me feedback on my progress and said that he said it was good but that he thought I could come up with something stronger than what I had. It basically killed me. No one ever wants to hear there teacher say that, it's worse than getting a bad critique. So, after ragaining my composure, I went back to my apartment and decided to sit and brainstorm a new concept. My classmate always told me that I'm a concept driven person, and she was very right. As soon as I came up with something, everything just clicked.
My new AND IMPROVED concept is "Intricate Indulgance." It's derived from taking all of the little intricate details in Godiva's chocolates and blowing them up in scale to expose there uniqueness.
Here it is.

Godiva Store Digital Design Project
The challenge for my digital design studo class is going in a new direction this semester. My teacher decided to have our class enter into a retail design competition for Godiva Chocolatiers run by PAVE.
Godiva Chocolatier INC plans to launch a new iconic boutque that will highlight its chocolate assortments in company-owned locations throughout the world.
Our challenge is to design a 1,000 square foot chocolate environment, along with a store front.
Here is a look at what I've been doing with this project....still a very long way to go but progress is being made, slowly but surly.
An elevation of the store front
The floor plan
working in max...just blocks at the moment
That's it for now....as I said I have a long way to go on this one as well!
Thanks for checking it out! :]

Chinese Tea House Project
Back again at Ringling for Junior year. Sorry it's such a late update but it's taking me a while to find time to post my work.
Here's the project description for my Interior Design 3 class:
We are designing an international tea house for our client The China National Tourism Administration. The CNTA exsists to plan and coordinate the development of the Chinese tourism industry; prepare development policies, programs and standards, draft relevent laws and regulations; and supervise the implementation and provide guidance for regional tourism.
In short, our design is meant appeal to cultures of all kind and demonstrate the innovative thinking and creativity of the presant day Chinese culture.
The concept I've come up with for this project is "Awaken the Senses." It's derived from the research I did about China and the tea culture. I found that when choosing which teas the make, the tea growers base it upon 5 basic principals which are the the shape of the leaf, the color of the liquid, aroma, taste, and the textured apperence of the leaf itself. It's very similar to the use of the 5 senses. Each section of the space will exemplafy one of these 5 principles.
Here is a little look at what I've been working on....

Perspective drawing of the dining area
Perspective of the retail area
I'll be adding more as I go along....still a ways to go before it's finished!

Escondido Wellness Center
Another sophomore year interior design two assignment. For this project we had 11 weeks to develop a wellness center for a southern California community in Escondido, California. We were given a floor plan and we then had to place a training/seminar room, lobby and reception, among many other things. It was a lot to take on so quickly but overall our entire class did a fantastic job. I know there are some thing on mine that I could improve upon but as of right now this is what I came up with. The concept for the Wellness Center in Escondido, California is 'patterns of the sun.'" ENJOY!
Construction Document Set
As my sophomore year comes to a close it's about time I start posting up the all the work I've been doing throughout this year. It's amazing how fast it's gone, but I'm extremely proud of myself and how much I've progressed throughout the year. This blog is of my construction document set that I did for my construction class spring 2010. He has us dissect the hair salon project we did for our Interior Design 1 class in fall semester 2009. It may not have been the most exciting assignment but it really made us realize how much we will need the help or architects and engineers in our career. So here is my first project on construction work.
